The Plan [b] Project is happy to support the book launch of Abigail’s Dream Adventures.  Abigail’s Dream Adventures has been a serendipitous and a magical ride for Author Karen E. Franks.  The Author hopes you love the book and that Abigail touches your senses and the short stories create vivid images for your dreams – Wish … Hope ….Dream …. Then make it happen.

The Book Launch

On March 26th 2016, Abigail’s Dream Adventures will be hosting a book launch costume party for school children with a special focus on children from low-income families. The event will take place at The Bookmart at Brown & Co., Hamilton. The Hon. Michael Weeks, Shadow Minister of Health, Community, Culture and Sport will open the day and we will have special remarks from Martha Dismont, Executive Director of the Family Centre and Richard Winchell, President of the Bermuda Zoological Society.

The great news is we have raised most of the funding needed to support this event but we need your help to ensure that we can provide books for all of the children who will be in attendance and those we will continue to reach as we promote Abigail’s message.

front-cover-finallowThe book launch will include book signings, a reading by the author (me), and a Q&A period including Colette Alexandratos, the illustrator of Abigail’s Dream Adventures who will be visiting from London for the event. We will also have an update about recent efforts to secure a “book-to-screen” opportunity that could bring Abigail to a theatre near you.

In addition, we will be announcing 2016 reading initiatives that feature Abigail’s Dream Adventures, most notably a Reading Campaign being carried out with partners Family Centre and Bermuda Zoological Society. We will have up-to-date information on the vital role that reading plays in healthy brain development and the nurturing of young learners.

The costume party will include fun things for children to do such as face painting, balloon making, arts and crafts, a magic show and a pixie-fairy Easter egg hunt. Brown & Co will donate a gift certificate prize to the winner.

Abigail’s Dream Adventure is more than a book. We are dedicated to inspiring children to dream and know that dreams can come true. This event is an effort to ensure that children of low-income families in Bermuda have an opportunity to be part of that message.

Story-2-scene-11Please help us to carry out this effort and put a book in the hands of every young Bermuda child. We begin with the book launch and we will be continuing the campaign to reach a much broader group of children through community and school based activities with the same goal.

We are trying to raise $9,000 to secure the best publishing deal for 1500 copies of the book at an 80% discount for volume plus shipping. Please consider sponsoring 100 books at $600 or whatever you can afford to help us reinforce hope and inspiration in the lives of Bermuda’s youngest dreamers. We would be delighted to include your name or company name and logo on advertising, promotional materials, website and through recognition at events, with your approval.

If you are interested in sponsoring their dream, please contact the Author, Karen E. Franks, at 441-333-4028 or email abigailsdreamadventures@gmail.com. Feel free to contact the Author with any additional questions or ideas.

Thank you for your kind consideration.
