I am not a huge watcher of TV. (even thou I do have my shows that must be TiVo’d.) But for some reason there are a few that I connect with and cannot miss. Parenthood, on NBC, is one of them. I connect with the Braverman Family. As a husband and father I feel for the situations that each family member gets caught in.
Recently it is the theme song that has caught my ear. I know I hear it every week…but never really listened to the words until I recently downloaded the Parenthood sound track. First off, it is a Bob Dylan song. Honestly, I only know a few Dylan songs…and Forever Young was not one of them. The lyrics are great…so I had to look them up and share…
Forever Young
by: Bob Dylan
May god bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay, forever young
May you stay forever young
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
And may you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
And may you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
