U2 ‘INVISIBLE’ FOR (RED)

In 2014, U2 teamed up with (RED) and Bank of America to fight AIDS with a Super Bowl commercial featuring their new song, “Invisible.” Immediately afterwards, three million free downloads of the song were made available on iTunes.

In the first hour following the commercial airing, “Invisible” saw more than one million free downloads. Bank of America continued to donate $1 for every download for the next 24 hours, exceeding their original $2 million pledge. The money raised through the Super Bowl initiative is part of Bank of America’s $10 million commitment to fight AIDS with (RED).

“Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of U2 and Bank of America, in just 36 hours (RED) has generated more than $3 million for the Global Fund. These are much-needed funds to end the AIDS pandemic in our lifetime.” – Deborah Dugan, CEO, (RED)

“U2 provides the talent, (RED) brings a wealth of experience in the fight against AIDS, and together we offer an immense platform to help get the message out,” – Anne Finucane, Bank of America’s vice chairman and global strategy marketing officer.
