The end of a typical Spencer weekend.

In 2007 my wife and I decided to make the big move to Bermuda with our 2 little boys. We knew that the move would happen one day and we knew that we wanted to give our boys a chance to live and grow up on this amazing island..but making the jump was very scary.

We have been living here for 4 1/2 years (or to be exact..1662 days and 21 hours..from the time I have posted this blog post).

Most people that live here take it for granted. We are not one of them. We make the absolute most of what we have and where we live. When we are invited by our amazing friends to spend time on the water, we do it. When friends visit on vacation…we try our best to be tourist with them. We work very hard…but play harder. You only have one life to live and we are trying to live it to the fullest.

We are blessed to be able to live here. We have given up a lot to make it happen…so we are not going to waste it.

No matter where you live, you need to be outside more. We live on a 22 square mile island, and we can find something or somewhere new every month. When we travel overseas on vacation….we have to explore. We see areas that the normal visitor would not go to. Exploring is a Spencer family past time. We love it.

Some great things to do with your family…is Letterboxing. You can do it as a family and it will most likely get you out to explore in areas that you would not typically venture. Check out Letterboxing.org for more details. You can do it at home…or anywhere you travel…if you want to keep the kids busy.

No matter where you live..get out. If you have kids, play sports….go for a bike ride….spend time at the beach. Even if you don’t have kids….go for a hike, run…walk. Being health is being active. Sometimes we get home and talk about what a great day we had. Hey…if you have kids, they will sleep better after a day out..

The world outside has so much to offer…
